| LATEST: Sexy ELIZA DUSHKU has come from nowhere to lead the race for the new WONDER WOMAN movie.
After months of speculation, the actress has declared she wants the superheroine role - and experts feel sure she's a leading contender because she's a favourite actress of writer/director JOSS WHEDON.
Dushku, who worked with Whedon on cult TV show BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and spin-off ANGEL, says she'd like to be considered for the role.
Speaking to film website MovieHole.net at Saturday's (01OCT05) Wizard World Convention in Boston, Massachusetts, Dushku said, "Joss is doing a little movie called Wonder Woman. I'd slap on the Dukes for that!"
Others reportedly in contention for the Wonder Woman lead include Dushku's former Buffy co-star CHARISMA CARPENTER, KIM BASINGER and MISCHA BARTON.

| Warner Brothers signs up the superheroes for PS2 and Xbox
With comic book heroes such as Batman and the Fantastic Four filling our cinemas, consoles and our every waking hour, what better time could there be to announce that DC Comics' Justice League is set for current-gen consoles in autumn 2006.
Details are still as meagre as Wonder Woman's actual powers but Warner Brothers has confirmed that the core of this crime-fighting covenant will include Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Zatanna.
Each playable hero will also have full customisable skills and fight their way through numerous interactive and destructible environments in solo or two-player cooperative combat.
At the moment no mention has been made of which developers will be handling the project or if the game will appear on any of the next-gen consoles, but at least it means that someone will still be supporting the current generation of machines right up until the end of next year.

| May 18, 2005 — LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actor and master impressionist Frank Gorshin, best known for his maniacally menacing turn as the Riddler on the 1960s TV series "Batman," has died at age 72, his agent said. The veteran entertainer, diagnosed with lung cancer several years ago while starring in a one-man Broadway show as comic legend George Burns, died on Tuesday at a hospital in Burbank, California, his agent and longtime friend Fred Wostbrock told Reuters.
Gorshin also had been suffering from emphysema and pneumonia, Wostbrock said.
Note: Rest in Peace Mr. Gorshin. Thank you for making The Riddler my favorite childhood villain.

| Ex-BUFFY stars SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR and CHARISMA CARPENTER are allegedly competing for the lead role in forthcoming superhero movie WONDER WOMAN.
The actresses - who played BUFFY SUMMERS and CORDELIA CHASE in the hit TV series - are battling for the iconic role after their former boss, JOSS WHEDON, agreed to direct the movie remake of the 70s television show, reports British newspaper the DAILY RECORD.
An insider says, "Joss has told the studio that Sarah is his first choice followed by Charisma. Sarah expressed an interest, but the producers are more interested in Charisma because she is less well known."
Ex-Buffy Director - Joss Whedon is now slated to write and direct the much anticipated feature film, who's star is still unknown.
